Big skies and Woodland Walks
It has been a little while since my last update, but I haven’t stopped painting. Following a wonderful experience at the annual H.Art trail, I found myself reflecting on how I share my work. While annual exhibitions are exciting, I felt a nagging sense that many of my paintings weren’t getting the exposure they deserved to find their forever homes. So I have decided to exhibit on a full-time basis! I’ve joined a vibrant community of artists and makers at the Market House in Ross-on-Wye, where I now have a dedicated space to showcase my work year-round.
This move has sparked a shift in my creative process. My goal for 2026 is to move toward a more curated approach—developing a cohesive collection centred on a single theme. However, I’ve reached a bit of a creative crossroads. I am currently torn between two subjects that I love:
- Big Skies: An exploration of light, drama, and the challenge of capturing a vast range of values.
- Woodland Walks: A study in atmospheric depth, focusing on the essence of the forest without getting lost in every leaf and branch.
I’m currently working on both until the right path reveals itself. I’d love to know which of these subjects speaks to you more.
